The BMX Association has celebrated its 20th anniversary. Since then when activities started at Sliema, the association is now housed at Pembroke where all the competitions are held.
The presentation of trophies for the Centre Point Championship which started in October and came to an end in May was held recently at Pembroke as part of the celebrations.
The activities continued recently with a festival which coincided with the 20th anniversary of the association. Activities had started way back in 1986 at the site where the Independence Garden in Sliema is situated today.
For this occasion, a meeting was held for which the president, John Zammit, addressed the children and their parents. Also present were the mayor of Pembroke, as well as Bertie Muscat, from the Kunsill Malta ghall-Isport (KMS).
An exhibition with several pictures covering the 20-year period of existence of the association was also set up.
A traditional barbeque with the participation of the parents and the children brought the activities to an end.
