A man was yesterday charged with involuntarily causing the death of his friend following a traffic accident on the Coast Road nearly a year ago.
Ludwig Micallef, 20, from San Gwann, was accused of involuntarily causing the death of 18-year-old Clifford Micallef on 27 August last year when he crashed into the wall of a residence on the Coast Road.
The accident allegedly happened at about 4.50pm when the Honda Civic, driven by the accused, crashed into a wall.
Mr Micallef was accused of driving negligently and dangerously by allegedly over speeding. Mr Micallef and another passenger escaped unhurt but Clifford Micallef, who was sitting in the passenger’s seat, suffered serious injuries and eventually died.
Mr Micallef pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.
Police inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted.
