Malta Independent Sunday, 13 August 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Carrie and Ozzylino, both of them successful artists who perform regularly in pubs, clubs and numerous events all over the island, have been given the opportunity to work with well known American writer and producer, Donovan Knowles.

Knowles has written or produced 13 Grammy Award winning songs with some top names in the international music industry including his cousin Beyonce Knowles, Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Avril Lavigne, MatchBox 20, Wu Tang Clan, Brownstone, Ginuwine, Jon B and Jagged Edge.

After Knowles saw Ozzylino perform at the Universaltalent Prague festival last year, where he placed second in the Best Singer awards, Xalles Limited, the international management firm is now helping to promote Carrie and Ozzylino in the international markets, and was able to negotiate a unique arrangement with Knowles.

The two artists will be working with Knowles to create a 12-song album each that will be recorded in Malta in August. The as-yet-untitled albums are expected to be released later this year. Knowles and his team of experts will also direct music videos for the albums. The albums and videos will be promoted in Malta, as well as in other markets worldwide, including Italy, Germany, UK, the USA and Canada.

On Wednesday 23 August, Donovan Knowles will present a seminar entitled, “The Industry According to Donovan Knowles”. Local artists are welcome to attend this free seminar, provided by Xalles Limited and Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa.

During this 90-minute seminar, Knowles will tell artists how to get in and stay in the international music industry, as well as how to create and market a demo and how to create and market oneself as an artist.

The seminar will be held at 1pm in the Melea Suite of the Maritim Antonine Hotel & Spa, Borg Olivier Street, in Mellieha. To register, please e-mail [email protected] or send a SMS to 7925 0520 withyour name, and how many people will be attending. Registration is open until Sunday, 20 August.
