Snooker: Shawn Agius Scores tournament’s highest break

On the final day of the event, the Maltese U-17 team again demonstrated its overall strength and defeated the Austrian team 9-0.

The Maltese U-13 team on the other side had more problems than expected. Although the Austrian U-13 team improved steadily during the competition, nobody expected such a thriller. At the end, Malta squeezed through 5-4, but only on the black of the final frame.

The highest break of the day scored Duncan Pisani from the U17 with 48

points in a frame against Richard Wallinger.

The highest break of the U-13 on the final day was scored Ernest Windholz who compiled a 25 in a frame against Shawn Sultana.

The best player during the competition in Vienna was clearly Shawn Agius. This fact was confirmed by the coaches of both nations as well as by the majority of the players of both nations. Apart from the first day, Agius scored breaks of 30 and over every day.

The highest break of the competition was that of the same Agius with 54 points. The highest break for the U13 in the competition was scored by Shawn Sultana with 32 points.

The final result of the Under 17 event was 38-7 in favour of Malta. In the Under 13 event, it ended 14-31 for Malta.
