Once again, TCK has been given the responsibility to host this year’s U-14 European tournament in conjunction with the Malta Tennis Federation.

Being a European ranking tournament, this event attracts many players of various nationalities and is a means of enhancing the reputation of the club for the organisation of such events.

This tournament is being held between 21 and 26 August. Due to the great number of entries, a qualifying round will be played next Saturday and Sunday. This tournament is once again being sponsored by Simonds Farsons Cisk through their product “San Michel” table water.

The players for this ranking tournament will be coming from Austria, Great Britain, Cyprus, Italy, Germany, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovak Republic, Greece, Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia & Montenegro, Czech Republic, Denmark and Turkey.

In the Boys event there will be 37 participants, among them the three promising Maltese players Malcom Ferrante, Jean Paul Schembri, Omar Sudzuka, and also Patrick Georgiev, Matthew Booker and Nathan Bonello

In the Girls’ event 32 will be taking part, among them the local promising player Brenda Galea.
