Female Employees Maltacom Association Celebrates third anniversary

Malta Independent Monday, 21 August 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Maltacom’s female employees recently met to celebrate the association’s third anniversary. FEM is an initiative taken by the Maltacom Group of Companies primarily to promote gender equality at the work place and at the same time to develop women's potential both personally and as employees.

FEM boasts a good number of achievements since its inception three years ago. The association always played an active role in the introduction of various policies targeting women’s rights – with sexual harassment and gender equality high on the agenda.

Through the determination and hard work of its team players, FEM has come a long way towards understanding the needs of its members and helping to implement work ethics towards a healthy environment enabling women to cope with day-to-day problems in the course of their professional life.

Guest of honour at the anniversary celebration was Maltacom's newly appointed CEO, David Kay. He welcomed this unique opportunity to meet female employees socially, get a hands-on view of their work experience and discuss with them possibilities for improvement that could enhance their quality of life at work.

“Satisfied and happy employees in turn satisfy customers” said David Kay who, in an interview recently communicated electronically to Maltacom Group employees at large, identified customer centricity as the catalyst for the company's future success in a highly competitive scenario. Ingrid Azzopardi, FEM Chairperson, thanked Maltacom management for its ongoing support and commented positively on the commitment and participation of FEM members.

A high percentage of FEM members turned up for the event and enjoyed a very pleasant evening of excellent food and entertainment marking FEM's anniversary.
