Michael Mifsud A target for Coventry

Malta Independent Thursday, 24 August 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Maltese international striker Michael Mifsud has become a target for English Championship side Coventry City, according to his agent.

The FansFC.com website said on its front page that club manager Micky Adams was looking to strengthen his forward line in the wake of Gary McSheffrey’s £4m move to Birmingham City.

Mifsud is one of four strikers said to be targeted by Adams. The others are Leon McKenize of Norwich City, Sunderland’s Kevin Kyle and Ade Akinbiyi of Sheffield United.

Mifsud had left a good impression when Lillestrom played Newcastle at St James Park in a UEFA Cup match last month.

And yesterday evening he was again on target as he maintained his current good form. In fact, he scored two goals to help Lillestrom to an away 3-3 draw with Lyn Oslo in the Norwegian Premier League.
