The event, Mnarja fil-Port il-Kbir, organised by the AX Foundation on 28 June at the Valletta Waterfront in aid of the Dar tal-Providenza, was a great success. It will be recalled that this was the first fund-raising activity of the AX Foundation, and was intended to raise funds to acquire physiotherapy equipment for the residents of the residential home in Siggiewi.

The evening was a Maltese folklore event, with an abundance of traditional Maltese food, sweets and drinks, and a lot of entertainment provided by popular singers. During the course of the enjoyable evening, there was folk dancing and special events for children.

The trustees of the AX Foundation announced that the net proceeds from the evening was Lm3,500. As agreed with Mgr Lawrence Gatt, who is responsible for the administration and running of Dar tal-Providenza, the AX Foundation will now use this money to purchase the required equipment.

The AX Foundation would like to thank all the sponsors and participants in the event, and particularly the public who generously contributed to the success of the evening.
