Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic of Bayern Munich is not included in the Bosnia squad. He announced his retirement from the international game a few days ago, despite still being 29 years old.
He took the decision as he intends prolonging his club career at Bayern Munich, with whom he won the 2001 Champions League.
"After numerous injuries and 10 operations in the last decade, and after talking with doctors in the USA and Germany, I have decided that it is best for my health if I say goodbye to the national team," he told Bosnian newspaper Dnevni Avaz.
Salihamidzic has a year left to run on his current deal with the Bavarians, who he joined from Hamburg in 1998.
His 41st and final appearance for Bosnia-Herzegovina came in the 2-1 defeat by France on 16 August.
