The World Cup fever has hardly abated and Hilton Malta’s Conference Centre is getting ready to host a very prestigious award gala dinner, in which ten world class goalkeepers will be honoured and presented a special prize.

The ceremony will be taking place on 18 September at the Grand Master’s suite of the Hilton Malta Conference Centre and it will be presented by no less than Denny Mendez, Miss Italia 1996 and the popular sports presenter of Rai TV, Marco Civoli.

Organising this event is the well-known Stefano Tacconi, the great Juventus goalkeeper in the 80’s. He was recently in Malta to conclude negotiations so that Malta is now the chosen destination for this event.

The proceeds from this show are going towards the “Centro Internazionale per la Pace tra I Popoli di Assisi” for the “Ulcera di Buruli” Project afflicting mainly the children of Africa. The main sponsors are Hilton Malta, The Casino at Portomaso, Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta.

Some goalkeepers invited to accept the awards are none other than Italian world champion Gigi Buffon, German Oliver Khan and England’s Gordon Banks to mention a few.
