Goalkeeper Andrew Hogg, as well as midfielders Dyson Falzon, Roderick Bajada and Christian Cassar have been dropped from the initial list.

Hibernians’ striker Terence Scerri, the only player who has never played for Malta at senior level as yet, forms part of the group.

The Malta ‘A’ squad is:

Defenders: Ian Azzopardi (Floriana), Ian Ciantar, Briana Said (both Sliema W.), Luke Dimech, Steve Wellman (both Marsaxlokk), Peter Pullicino (Msida SJ), Kenneth Scicluna (Birkirkara).

Midfielders: Jamie Pace, Kevin Sammut, Gareth Sciberras (all Marsaxlokk), Trevor Cilia (Floriana), George Mallia (Birkirkara), Claude Mattocks (Sliema W.)

Forwards: Gilbert Agius (Valletta), Michael Mifsud (Lillestrom), Terence Scerri (Hibernians), Andre Schembri (Marsaxlokk), Ivan Woods (Sliema W.)

The Malta contingent leaves Malta on a direct flight to Frankfurt on Monday afternoon for the away match against Turkey, which will be played at the Commerzbank Arena Stadium in Frankfurt. The match kicks off at 8pm.
