The Maltese national team squad leaves today for Frankfurt in Germany, where on Wednesday, they will be meeting Turkey in their second Group C qualifier.

On Saturday evening, Malta opened its commitments with a disastrous 2-5 home defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

For Turkey, it will be their first commitment in the competition having been the only Group team inactive on Saturday.

The match is to be played behind closed doors and is to start at 8pm.

Coach Dusan Fitzel will have to leave one player of his 20-strong squad out and he is expected to make that selection this morning. Midfielder George Mallia dropped out earlier. He is unavailable due to work commitments.
