Weight Loss TV programmes gain in popularity

Following the success of TVM’s Saturday afternoon programme Kilò, its producers, Bon Vivre Productions Ltd, are going a step further and launching a new educational programme Health and Wellness TV.

The popular programme Kilò will be back live on TVM every Saturday between 3 and 5.30pm, from 7 October. The producer and presenter of the programme, Antonella Vassallo, is enthusiastic and keen to repeat the experience. In this series, 10 overweight men and women will live together for three months and will be guided by a slimming guru, Marion Mizzi and other professionals on how to lose a significant amount of weight, eat more healthily and tone up their bodies. Maybe this year, the participants will break the existing record by losing over 40 kilos in only seven weeks. Anyone who is interested in living the Kilò experience is invited to collect an application form from one of the following Myoka outlets: The Slimming Club by Marion Mizzi Fgura, Myoka Hilton and Portomaso St Julians, Myoka Apollo at Corinthia San Gorg, Myoka Dolmen, Islet Promenade Bugibba, Myoka Golden Sands Resort and Spa, on the outskirts of Mellieha.

The new programme, Health and Wellness TV, will start on the Education 22 channel on 7 October. It consists of not only learning how to lose weight but also how to maintain a healthier lifestyle, through the advice of national and international experts. It will be the first time that a Maltese television station transmits substantial live segments of a reality TV programme. Viewers will be able to share the emotions, challenges and aspirations of people who have decided to participate in a hard weight-loss programme. The aim of Health and Wellness TV is to educate families and increase their awareness of healthy living. It will offer numerous programmes dealing with various healthcare topics, such as sports, nutrition, cookery, holistic therapy, medical advice, leisure.
