Tony Drago must win his final round robin Group 1C match today against Paul Davison while also hoping that Rory McLeod loses his final match against Chris Melling to be able to reach the round of last 16 in the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.

On Monday night, Drago registered his third win in the tournament by beating Passakorn Suwannawat 3-2. Yesterday he maintained his positive trend with a 3-1 win over Mark Boyle for his fourth success.

Rory McLeod, however, had beaten the already qualified Jamie Cope 3-1 but then lost to Paul Davison 3-0 – a result that has given Drago the chance to maintain his qualification hopes till the very end.

At present McLeod and Drago have both won four matches and lost two but McLeod leads with a better frames difference.

Meanwhile, Alex Borg obtained his first win after he beat Liu Song 3-0. But in an evening match, he then lost to Stuart Pettman 3-0 – his fifth defeat in six matches.

Borg plays his final match today against Adrian Gunnell. But he is now eliminated.
