Sliema Hs won the 2006 Indoor League organised by the Hockey Association. This was the first time that Sliema won this honour and came about after they won a hard fought decider against White Hart.

In fact it was White Hart who opened the score through Karl Tua but Sliema’s new signing (from Qormi), Sandro Bartolo, equalised before half time.

The second half opened with Sliema captain Michael Caruana Smith putting his side in front. Tua was White Hart’s source of danger and it was no surprise that he put his side on level terms.

The winner game five minutes from time when Caruana Smith beat the White Hart goalkeeper from a short corner move.
