Malta Independent Saturday, 7 October 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

World renowned bass-baritone Daniel Lichti will be in Malta in November. Sponsored by Lions Club Sliema Arts Foundation, Mro Lichti will arrive from his native Canada on 4 November and will then hold a series of master classes at the Sala Isouard. His visit will end with a performance of Schubert’s Winterreise at the Manoel Theatre on 12 November, for which he will be accompanied at the piano by conductor of the National Orchestra, Michael Laus.

Lions Club Sliema president Chris Borg Cardona remarked that the Club’s Arts Foundation was at last coming of age. “The foundation was established three years ago and we are now in a position to make a substantial gesture in support of the great store of artistic talent we have in these islands”.

LCSAF chairman, Ian Lochhead stressed that Mro Lichti’s classes were available to all suitably qualified artistes, and that initial applications should be made to The Secretary, Lions Club Sliema, PO Box 62, Sliema.
