A woman and her Tunisian boyfriend pleaded guilty to forging visas to the Czech Republic and giving false statement.

The 35-year-old Tunisian national was given a two-year jail term suspended for two years after he admitted to the charges brought against him while his partner, a 31-year-old Maltese woman, was conditionally discharged for two years for concealing the traces of her partner’s crime.

In a separate hearing, a 27-year-old Indian man was jailed for a year for acquiring a forged visa to the Czech Republic and forging an identity card. His 25-year-old friend, also an Indian, was given an 18-month jail term suspended for two years for acquiring a counterfeit visa.

Magistrate Michael Mallia presided over the court. Police Inspector Angelo Gafà prosecuted. Lawyers Richard Sladden and Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
