A group of young people will be participating in a project that is set to be a fresh and innovative exploration of their role in music on national and European levels.

The project – “Youths make Music” – is part of a series of activities that will be organised by a over the next few months as part of the EU’s youth initiative programmes.

“Vocalise”, the group that is undertaking the project, aims to inspire, encourage and instigate young people to take initiatives in the field of classical music.

The journey of investigation and study will consist of discussions, workshops and concerts, including a classical music performance that will be held at Palazzo de La Salle in Republic Street in Valletta on 12 January at 7.30pm. Corazon Mizzi, Marouska Attard, Kevin Caruana, Charlene Aquilina and Claire Tabone will be performing pieces of music from the repertoire of Mozart, Schubert, Brahms and Schumann.

The project will reach a climax on 10 and 11 February, when two music performances will be held at the Manoel Theatre – the Liebeslieder Walzter by Johannes Brahms and Moralities by Hans Werner Henze.
