The National Commission for the Family has congratulated archbishop-elect Fr Paul Cremona on his appointment.
The commission said it was pleased to note that Fr Cremona described himself as “one who builds bridges” and his work within Maltese parishes means that he is well aware of the challenges facing the family in Malta.
Next year the Commission will be working on a National Plan for the Family, and the commission said that the Church will be a key player.
It also thanked Mgr Joseph Mercieca for his long service to the country over the past 30 years.
