Malta Independent Friday, 15 December 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

RPL Directors Dr Anton Tabone and Mr Amabile Zammit yesterday gave the final guidelines prior to the much-awaited Andrea Bocelli Concert to be held tomorrow at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre.

It was announced that the doors are to open at 6pm and the public is urged to find its way early to the venue to avoid last-minute rush and delays caused by possible traffic congestion.

The concert will be starting at 8pm sharp. People arriving later will not be able to enter until the interval i.e. approximately one hour later.

The public is being invited to carefully follow the signage to be put up along the road leading towards the venue. Diamond ticket holders should follow special signage directing them towards VIP reserved parking.

A special drop-off/pick-up point is being reserved outside the entrance to the venue to enable people arriving with taxis or mini-vans to be dropped off/picked up.

It was also announced that in order to avoid any type of congestions, apart from the police service, at least 100 persons will be on service that evening including parkers, security guards and ushers/usherettes.

It should be noted that the VIP parking will be reserved for those attending the post-concert dinner at the Portomaso Car Park on Level –3. There will be a security service on site to assist patrons as they arrive at the Car Park.

The programme for Bocelli’s concert includes a pleasant mix of classic and contemporary and will comprise arias from Verdi and Puccini as well as come of the more popular compositions, well loved by the local public such as his international hits Con te Partirò and Because We Believe.

RPL Ltd have confirmed that sales in all areas of the auditorium have exceeded all expectations yet those wishing to attend would still have the possibility to purchase tickets from the venue. The concert is to be held at the Malta Convention Centre, Ta’ Qali.

Tickets are available from www.

maltaticket.com, all Maltapost branches in Malta and Gozo and Exotique outlets. The concert is sponsored by HSBC Bank (Malta), Malta International Airport (MIA), the Maltacom Group and Hilton (Malta).
