Bondi Plus presenter Lou Bondi was asked to change the subject of last night’s programme because, among other things, one of the matters that would have been discussed is still sub judice.
In a statement, PBS chairman John Camilleri said that the editorial board last Friday met to discuss a letter submitted by Nationalist MP John Dalli on the programme Mr Bondi wanted to produce for yesterday.
The board said that Mr Bondi was told to produce a programme with a different subject because the case regarding Joe Zahra, which is directly linked with the programme, is still sub judice.
The PBS chairman said there was also a conflict of interest and therefore the programme went against the guidelines established by the Broadcasting Authority.
Mr Camilleri said that Mr Bondi had sometimes used research services offered by Mr Zahra for previous programmes.
