The Association of General Retailers and Traders (GRTU) has appealed to all those intending to enjoy the festive season’s Paceville nightlife to plan their journeys in advance, to allow extra travelling time and to consider carpooling when planning their nights out on the town.
While the whole of the festive season is particularly busy, it is the nights of Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when traffic congestion in the environs of St Julian’s and Paceville reaches its peak. And this year’s ongoing bridge works and single lane traffic on the Regional Road are likely to compound the situation to a certain extent.
GRTU tourism, hospitality and leisure section president Philip Fenech stressed that this year, more so than in previous years, revellers should consider organising a carpool or using alternative means of transport in order to reduce the number of cars on the road.
