Following a short story that appeared in TMIS on 10 December, which criticised the objectionable scenes on MTV shown at the McDonald’s outlet at the Plaza, it transpires that the screen belongs to Plaza Centre, not McDonald’s.

Following the story, the Plaza management has now banned the screening of MTV. Instead the screen will show CNN, Sky News, the Discovery Channel or Cartoon Network.

Inquiries to the Broadcasting Authority have shown that the authority has little or no control over what is screened in Malta direct from abroad.
