Forty nine BOV cardholders have won twice the amount they spent on a particular purchase during this Christmas period. The purchase, for which they paid using their BOV Card, was randomly selected in the first draw of the BOV Cards promotion for this Christmas season.

Concurrently, two BOV merchant customers also won prizes thanks to this promotion that is linked to payments using BOV Cards. The first two winning merchant establishments under this promotion are BHS and Agenda Bookshops. The merchant customers won an AirMalta Flyaway Tour for two persons to a European destination of their choice.

The promotion, which started on 26 November 2006, will run till 31 January 2007. The first draw was held on 15 December and covered purchases made between 26 November and 13 December 2006.

Presenting the prize at Agenda Bookshop, Charles Grech from BOV’s Card Services Division said more and more people are choosing to use their BOV Card as their preferred way to pay.

“Christmas time is a time for shopping and today, more and more people are choosing to use their BOV Card as their preferred method of payment,” said Mr Grech. “Paying with a BOV Card is safer, more straightforward and efficient when compared to using cash. Besides, BOV Cards offer the customer a number of added-value benefits including the purchase protection insurance that is available on certain cards, an interest free credit period that is available on credit cards, and the possibility to benefit from a number of promotions that are regularly made available to cardholders,” he added. He took the opportunity to congratulate all the cardholders as well as the merchant establishments that won a prize in the first draw of the BOV Cards promotion.

BOV Cardholders must affect a minimum of five transactions during the Promotion Period to be eligible for the draw and eligible Cardholders are then automatically given a stake in the lottery for every transaction effected. Similarly, merchant establishments are given a free participating ticket for every 10 transactions processed.
