The One Metre Radio Sailing Championships 2006, held at the Valletta Waterfront, was a spectacular event, held over two days, for both participants and spectators alike.
The races took off to a good start, benefiting from the calm weather on the days of the competition. Principal Race Officer Peter Dimech ran the regatta, helped by international judge Peter Valentino.
A windward-leeward course was set in the laguna. Eleven skippers took part in the two-day competition. Vincent Zammit won the championships. Albert Micallef placed second while Alan Desira placed third.
