Influenza Jabs free of charge

Malta Independent Friday, 5 January 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

The health department is offering members of the general public to take the influenza jab free of charge until stocks last.

Last October the health department had kicked-off a campaign and the influenza vaccination was offered for free to patients suffering from chronic illnesses and people over the age of 55.

In a statement issued by the Department of Information, the Health Department said respiratory-related illnesses characterised by coughing, the flu and fever are very common at this time of year and the influenza vaccination may help to avoid more serious illnesses.

Irrespective of age or health condition, everyone is invited to take the jab by visiting the nearest health centre from Monday to Saturday between 8.30am and 1pm.
