Those of you who like to sing and dance to popular Italian and Neapolitan tunes from different periods of time, are in for a treat this evening as Mark Spiteri Lucas and his band, together with popular singers Ivan Spiteri Lucas, Ludwig Galea, Fabrizio Faniello, Nadine Axisa and Maria Mallia will be presenting Dipinto di Blu in Merchants’ Street, in front of Is-Suq tal-Belt as part of Notte Magica – It-Tre Re.
This event is being organised by Nng Promotions under the auspices of the Ministry for Tourism and Culture, in collaboration with the Valletta Alive Foundation and the Valletta Local Council.
Dipinto di Blu, is a non-stop two hour concert, starting at around 9pm, and will feature a varied repertoire that appeals to different generations. From Giorgia’s Come Saprei or De Crescenzo’s Ancora, to upbeat songs such as Mina’s Tintarella di Luna or Gianni Morandi’s Fatti Mandare dalla Mamma.
The song list is neverending with well-known numbers such as, Zucchero’s Baila Morena, Eros’s Piu Bella Cosa, Pooh’s Uomini Soli, Mia Martini’s Almeno Tu Nell’Universo and Marcella Bella’s Montagne Verdi. The classical touch from Naples cannot be missed with evergreen Neapolitan tunes such as O Sole Mio, Sordato Innamorato and Feniculì Feniculà, to mention just a few.
All performers taking part in Dipinto di Blu are popular and versatile artists.
The band, under the direction of well-known singer and musician, Mark Spiteri Lucas, is without any doubt, one of the most prominent and active show bands at the moment.
Apart from Mark, the band will include includes other talented and experienced musicians who are household names in local music circles.
These include: Mark’s brother Kurt (Keyboards), Joe Degabriele (bass), Roderick Eddeslton (drums) and Alex Mizzi (guitar).
The concert will surely offer an entertaining evening to all those who decide to go to Merchants’ Street and spend a couple of hours listening, singing and maybe dancing to a varied repertoire of popular songs and standard hits that appeal to different ages.
