A full-length film in Maltese, Qerq (treachery) is due to be screened in Maltaese cinemas later this month, Bronk Productions announced yesterday.

The film is a mix of “thriller, intrigue, suspense, mystery”.

The screenplay and direction is by Louis Cuschieri, who also directed Mera tal-Passat.

Paul Preca Trapani is director of photography. He was producer of Operation White Dove, sound supervisor in Mera tal-Passat and director of photography in Angli – the Movie.

Benny Casha shares his vast experience as the film’s production manager.

The film stars Frida Cauchi, Maria Farrugia, Fabian Scerri de Carlo, Ronald Saliba, Peter Borg, Simon Curmi Graziella Casha, Joseph Fenech, John Peel and Romina Darmanin. Hermann Bonaci, Mary Rose Mallia, Joe Gatt and Xandru Grech make guest appearances.

The film will be distributed by KRS, the first Maltese film it has distributed to Maltese cinemas.
