A 26-year-old man from Zabbar was yesterday given a one-year sentence suspended for two after he pleaded guilty to the violent indecent assault of a man.

Appearing before Magistrate Lawrence Quintano, Lawrence Farrugia was charged with committing an immoral offence against another man on 6 January.

Farrugia also admitted to offending public morals by committing the act in a public place.

The victim’s name is not being published due to a court order to this effect. Police Inspector Louise Calleja prosecuted.
