The Union Haddiema Maghqudin yesterday gave notice of industrial action at Maltapost, effective as from tomorrow, after no agreement was reached on a new collective agreement.
The UHM said that it will be issuing directives that can range from minimal instructions to strike action.
The union said it was resorting to such action after the management has for several months been insisting to introduce clauses that reduce the conditions of work.
A notice of industrial dispute was registered last Friday with the Department of Industrial Relations and Employment.
Maltapost workers cannot continue to be treated with this level of arrogance, which is leading to undue pressure on the workers, the union said.
