The Nationalist Party yesterday accused the Labour Party’s media machine of being dishonest and reporting fabricated stories.
In a statement, the party said the Labour Party had invented a story saying that architect Lawrence Gatt had withdrawn his candidature for next month’s local council elections on behalf of the PN.
The PN said in the report, Charlon Gouder had asked the party’s secretary general Joe Saliba whether Mr Gatt had been approached to stand on behalf of the PN. Even though Mr Saliba had replied that same day, One News carried the fabricated report.
“This goes to show that the Labour Party, through its media, reports rumours and fabricates news stories,” the PN said.
