A 28-year-old Albanian national residing in Victoria, Gozo, suffered serious injuries this morning after falling approximately one and a half storeys while working on a site in Triq it-Tiġrija, Xagħra, Gozo.
The accident occurred at around 10.30am.
A medical team and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and the man was first transported to the Gozo General Hospital for medical attention.
Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently airlifted by helicopter to Mater Dei Hospital for further specialised treatment.
Duty Magistrate Dr. Monica Vella LL.D. was informed of the accident and has opened an inquiry.
Investigations led by the police, alongside the Occupational Health and Safety Authority and the Building and Construction Authority, are currently ongoing.
