General Soft Drinks Co.Ltd. has launched its Sprite Getaway Competition, giving participants the chance to win 400 Air Malta scheduled flights to 50 destinations.

A number of one litre Sprite and Diet Sprite bottles will contain a telephone number printed underneath the cap liner. Participants should call the number, when they will be greeted by an automated voice which will guide them through the process. First, they will be asked to key in their identity card number and to answer a general knowledge question. The Interactive Voice Response call, which is available both in Maltese and English, will automatically announce to the participant whether the answer was correct or not.

Those who answer correctly will win a free flight to any destination operated by Air Malta (excluding London Heathrow and Brussels). In addition, participants will be entitled to a Lm3 voucher courtesy of Carpisa, 108 Naxxar Road, Birkirkara, irrespective of whether their answer was correct or not. Besides, participants can participate again with the same cap on the following week.

General Soft Drinks General Manager Maria Micallef said the technology involved in the promotion, provided by Maltacom, makes participation really easy. She said past collaborations between the beverage company and the national carrier have always been successful.

Air Malta Marketing and Product General Manager Brian Bartolo said the carrier always creates innovative flight ideas. Mr Bartolo said winners can fly between 19 February and 31 March and 17 April and 15 June. He explained that flights can be redeemed at Air Malta’s sales offices in Valletta and Gozo.

The promotion campaign will kick off on Monday and will end on 30 April, 2007. However, as flights will be available on a first-come first-served basis, the campaign will end as soon as the 400th flight is won. Telephone calls from fixed lines or mobile phones will be at 25c each (VAT included).
