HSBC Bank Malta plc has announced the launch of its new online banking current account through which customers will benefit from 2.5 per cent per annum interest on the whole balance until 31 August. After this date, a 1.5 per cent interest rate per annum on the whole balance will apply.
New customers can apply online by visiting the bank’s website hsbc.com.mt, while existing HSBC customers can upgrade their current or savings account through the same site. Furthermore, customers applying for this account are also eligible for a fee-free credit card for the first year and may also apply for an unsecured overdraft facility through this service.
Internet banking has gained immense popularity ever since HSBC launched this service. HSBC’s internet banking uses a secure internet connection that allows customers to access account information and to make banking transactions online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from whatever location customers happen to be.
“Applying for a range of banking services has never been easier with online banking facilities. Online banking gives customers control over their finances. It is convenient, quick and simple to use, giving clients the freedom to conduct their banking anytime,” said HSBC Bank Malta plc’s head of marketing, Brian Tortell.
Other online services from HSBC include the management of mobile phone SMS alerts, mobile top-up facilities, the payment of bills, and sending instructions and messages to the bank through a secure infrastructure, applying for credit cards, personal loans and home loans, among others.
