Court: Student Rapped for assault on teacher

A 12-year-old girl was yesterday put on probation for two years after pleading guilty to assaulting and slightly injuring a teacher.

The girl, who cannot be named as she is a minor, pleaded guilty to assaulting a female teacher at Cospicua’s Erin Serracino Inglott school on 5 December 2006, causing her slight injuries.

She also pleaded guilty to threatening and insulting the woman and breaching the peace. The juvenile court, presided over by Magistrate Anthony Vella, put the girl on probation for two years. Police Inspector Anthony Cassar prosecuted while Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
