An Algerian was yesterday given a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to forging a passport.
Arezki Hadj Arab, 24, pleaded guilty to forging a French passport bearing the name of Farouk Lameni and knowingly making use of it. He also pleaded guilty to falsification of an official document.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna gave the accused a one-year jail term suspended for two years. Police Inspector Sandro Zarb prosecuted while Dr Martin Fenech appeared for the accused.
