The Director of Mediterranean Insurance Brokers (Malta) Limited, Joe Cutajar is very pleased that the Grand Master Suite will be full house, even though it is one of the largest indoor venue currently available in Malta. Following this positive feedback, all the organisers involved wish to thank the public for the enormous response. Mr Cutajar announced that there will be news released soon about surprise activities, linked to his company anniversary celebrations in the near future.
The Grand Evening featuring international soprano Miriam Gauci in concert is being held this Saturday at the Grand Master’s suite, Hilton. The event will be marking the 30th anniversary of Mediterranean Insurance Brokers (MIB) business in Malta and the 20th anniversary of Aon (which they exclusively represent on the island).
The evening will consist of a programme of operatic excerpts and songs, with the participation of the National Orchestra conducted by Michael Laus. Miriam Gauci will perform some of the most popular operatic arias in her repertoire interspersed with orchestral selections from operas. It is interesting to note that Gauci will be singing the aria Suicidio from Ponchielli’s La Gioconda for the very first time in her career. The Malta National Orchestra will be augmented with extra musicians from the Czech Republic.
The last time Miriam sang in a concert of this sort in Malta was three years ago. In the meantime, she has taken part in various important productions abroad such as the La Scala production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and also other performances in Munich and Vienna. This coming concert is very special for both Miriam Gauci and conductor Michael Laus. Her husband, Michael says it is a wonderful experience, not only because Miriam is a first-class singer but also because such opportunities let them prepare and plan the programme together so that by the time they go to rehearsals and to the actual performance, they would have the same concept of the pieces being performed. Saturday will undoubtedly be another outstanding concert to be added with their repertoire.
