The Labour Party (MLP) pledged that after the next general elections it would finish off the embellishment project in the south which began between 1996 and 1998, said party leader Alfred Sant during a visit to Marsaxlokk and Birzebbuga on Thursday evening.
Dr Sant said the MLP, also through its councillors, wanted to improve the quality of life of the communities and make the difference by meeting the aspirations of the families. The MLP, he said, was offering a plan that offered a new beginning for Malta.
The MLP leader accused the central government of putting spokes in the wheels of Labour councils. He promised that a Labour government would help MLP councils to fulfill their promises. He praised the Marsaxlokk and Birzebbuga councils for fulfilling their consituents' wishes and making a difference.
