The road planners who effected the changes to Triq is-Sidra in Swieqi have really surpassed themselves this time. They really deserve an award for creativity and efficiency in design.
Instead of turning the road one way to facilitate the passage of traffic, including public transport, the leading lights of planning have turned Triq is-Sidra (northbound) one-way for 20 metres, two-way for 10 metres, one-way for 20 metres and two-way for 200 metres.
When somebody contacted the police they told him it was ADT’s problem but they would “have a look”. When the same person contacted the council, the reply was “ahna qeghdin hawn minhabba il-voti biss” (we are here only for the council votes).
