Last week, the police came to Nadur looking for a man who had been brandishing a knife in public.
The man most probably needed psychiatric help. The police eventually found him, and the man ended up in hospital with a leg broken at the hip.
Shocked Nadur residents have spoken this newspaper about this incident. Maybe the man offered resistance. Maybe he had to be subdued by force.
But many have asked: was not excessive force used to subdue a man in such a condition? Could it not have been done in another way?
The residents feel they deserve an explanation and an investigation into what really happened.
