Malta has been positioned at number 26 out of a total of 124 countries worldwide in the World Economic Forum’s tourism industry ranking.

The respectable first quartile position is undermined by Malta’s ticketing taxes and airport charges, however. On this point Malta’s rank is 118 out of 124, just five places above Chad, which has the lowest overall ranking.
