A public consultation exercise is being launched by the Ministry of Health, the Elderly and Community Care about planned mental-health legislation.

The aim of the legislation is that every care, support or other aid given by the mental-health sector would be of a kind that gives more importance to the needs and rights of the person concerned.

The bill can be seen on the ministry website: www.sahha.

gov.mt, in the Notice Board section. The public may send its comments by email to [email protected] or by post to Ms Karen Camilleri, Ministry of Health, the Elderly and Community Care, 15, Merchants Street, Valletta.

All comments will be considered but must reach the ministry by 6 April.
