Two men were yesterday remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to trying to rob a house in Zabbar on 4 February.

Mark Zahra, 36, and Charles Mangion, 31, both from Fgura, were charged with trying to steal several items from a house in St Mary Street in Zabbar as well as with damaging the house’s front door. The men were also charged with relapsing.

Mr Zahra alone was further charged with carrying and possessing an air gun and committing a crime during the operative term of a conditional discharge while Mr Mangion alone was also charged with filing a false police report.

Before Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona, the men pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them. Their request for bail was turned down and they were remanded in custody.
