A man was yesterday jailed for nine months after he was found guilty of defrauding a non-governmental organisation when he forged signatures on several cheques when he was still 17 years old.
The man, whose name cannot be published on court order since he was still a minor when he committed the crime, on 11 February 2003, was found guilty of stealing a Bank of Valletta chequebook from Old Mint Street in Valletta and defrauding the Moviment Azzjoni Socjali of more than Lm1,000.
Magistrate Lawrence Quintano jailed the man for nine months.
