Parliament: Hotels Warned because of their swimming pools

Eight hotels have received warnings from the health authorities regarding the state of their swimming pools, Health Minister Louis Deguara told Labour MP Carmelo Abela.

The warnings regarding two of the hotels were withdrawn because the works that should have been done have in fact been done within the agreed time-frame.

As regards the other hotels, the guarantees are still effective because the hotels are still in time to do the work agreed upon, the minister said.

ADT suspended employees

Eleven of the Malta Transport Authority employees are suspended pending court proceedings in their regard, Urban Development and Roads Minister Jesmond Mugliett told Labour MP Adrian Vassallo.

None of these 11 has the use of ADT vehicles.

Difficult to find

insurance

Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg confirmed, in a reply to Nationalist MP Robert Arrigo, that local councils are finding it difficult to find insurance for their playing fields.

The minister said the local government department is engaged in talks with the association of local councils in an attempt to find a block policy.
