A man allegedly raped a 29-year-old woman in Lija yesterday morning, the police said in a statement.
Preliminary investigations showed that the woman was raped when the man took her into a van in Triq Robert Sammut at about 9.30am.
The police said the woman had to be admitted to hospital for treatment following the incident.
Duty Magistrate Edwina Grima appointed several experts to assist her in the inquiry.
