An Italian man pleaded guilty yesterday to stealing his girlfriend’s mobile phone and jewellery and selling them in order to finance his drug addiction.
Carmelo Innorcia, 34, who lives with his girlfriend in Kalkara, pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him.
After hearing his girlfriend, Jennifer Bonavia, say that she was forgiving her boyfriend, magistrate Doreen Clarke deferred the case for judgement. Meanwhile, Innorcia was placed under house arrest against a personal guarantee of Lm100.
Police Inspector Michael Mallia prosecuted, while Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Charmaine Cherrett appeared for the accused.
