A collection of 15 contemporary art paintings by German artist/architect Andrea-Nicole Schmidt will be on exhibit at Remax-Tigne in Sliema from today until 31 March.

Born in 1973 in Germany, Andrea-Nicole studied art at the Kunstzentrum MaFoFa of the University of Kaiserslautern-Germany under the tuition of sculptor Professor Gernot Rumpf.

In 2000 she studied experimental painting at the VHS Kaiserslautern&Schopp with Maria del Rosario Edrich. During the past four years she has also been involved in experimental printing and clay workshops. She graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Kaiserslautern in 2000.

Andrea-Nicole has carried out autodidactic studies in Argentinia, Malta, Rwanda, Spain and Uruguay. Her favourite technique is acrylic painting, but she also works in printing, clay sculpture and stonework. She has exhibited her works in Germany at the VHS Kaiserslautern (2001) and at the Badehaisel Wachenheim (2004); and also in Malta at the Artitude Gallery in Sliema and at the Melita in Attard (2005-2006).
