Agenda Kids Club will continue to pay the tree sponsorship contribution in order to sponsor trees on behalf of new members who join the club until the end of this year. For every child that enrols into the Agenda Kids Club, the club will sponsor a tree in the child’s name. This initiative, in collaboration with the 34U campaign, encourages children to appreciate trees and is a great way to help improve the island’s environment.
New members will normally be asked to pay Lm1.50 to contribute towards sponsoring a tree in the name of the Kids Club member, however, Agenda Bookshop has decided to continue to pay the full contribution on behalf of its members until end 2007.
Agenda Bookshop marketing executive Rachelle Tabone said: “The environment is highly regarded at Agenda Bookshop and we firmly believe that the future of our country’s environment lies within the hands of each and everyone of us. Therefore, we are not charging a membership fee for children to take advantage of all the membership benefits, we simply encourage our members to do their bit for the environment.”
The tree-planting project sponsored by Agenda Kids Club will take place at a site specifically identified by the 34U campaign coordinated by the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment.
Members of Agenda Kids Club are entitled to special offers and discounts on children’s books, free entrance to and participation in fun-filled events and storytelling sessions, free newsletters, free goodies upon registration and, most importantly, an insight into the wonderful and magical world of books.
Becoming a member of the Agenda Kids Club is simple. Children are asked to fill in the Agenda Kids Club application form available at all Agenda outlets and return it to any of the Agenda outlets listed below.
Launched last November, Agenda Kids Club aims to continue promoting literacy in
Malta. Designed for all children aged between three and over, the Club wants to educate children about the importance of reading while introducing other important issues such as increased awareness about the environment and health issues from a very young age.
