The painter Barbara McAdam-Seth has donated a collection of 184 watercolours to Din l-Art Helwa – the National Trust of Malta. The pictures depict a wide selection of wild flowers that the artist gathered in the Maltese countryside when she lived in Malta during the 1970s with her husband, the writer Ronald Seth. They had converted an old farmhouse in Landrijiet near Dingli and lived there for eight years, dedicating their time to painting and writing.

The paintings were presented to the executive president of Din l-Art Helwa, Martin Galea, who thanked Mrs Seth for her donation. Mr Galea noted that apart from the artistic merits of the individual pictures, the collection formed a significant record of Maltese flora. Also present for the occasion were the artist’s friends, the painters Alfred and Margaret Chircop.

Barbara McAdam-Seth studied at the Medway School of Art in Rochester, Kent, and has exhibited in Paris, Brussels, Rome and Malta. She is mainly known for her flower paintings, fabric collage and portraits.
